I made my friend Mr. Manjunath bunk his office on Monday and took him for a holy trip to Sri Revanna Siddeshwara Betta. We left our room at 10:30 AM in Banashankari (Bangalore) and managed to reach in about an hour and fifteen minutes. We felt happy for seeing the shade of zinc sheets laid over the entire path till the top of the hill as it protects us from the hot sun.

Far View of the Hill
It is a massive monolithic hill surrounded by beautiful hilly region. It is believed that Sri Revanna Siddeshwara has done penance here for the good of people. At the bottom of the hill, there is Renukamba Temple, Basavanna Temple, Dasoha Bhavana etc.,

After we pass through the above, in the middle of the hill there is a small pond & Bheemeshwara temple complex. The vehicle can go up to the middle of the hill till Bheemeshwara temple complex. Snacks are available in this place but we have to be careful as many monkeys will be ready to attack for food.

Some portion of the trek is tough. As there are no steps to climb at certain places on the way, railings on either side of the path has to be used as a support to climb.

However, we reached the top of the hill in about twenty minutes and found a small Gopuram and Bell which we rang for some time.

Shivalinga
The cool breeze and the view of the surrounding area from this place gives immense pleasure and joy. Lot of agricultural farms can be seen from this point surrounding the hill.

This is not the end of the hill and we have to climb down the other side of the hill to reach the Revanna Siddeshwara Temple located inside the hill in a cave. Climb down to the other side of the hill as the breeze is violent.

Climb down to this place to reach the main temple
We reached the cave slowly overcoming the breeze and prayed Sri Revanna Siddeshwara. The cave is very cool inside and we took some rest here before climbing down.

As we climbed down, there is dasoha bhavana that provides free food to the visitors. We took the free food which was very tasty and also healthy. Many of the visitors donate some money to it for helping it to provide free food to the visitors of the temple in future. A visit to this small place gave good satisfaction of utilising the day properly. We finally came back to the concrete jungle (Bangalore) before evening from this holy place.
